Valentine’s Day 2014 in Honolulu

Whether you are coupled up and looking for romance or seeking a night out on the town with friends for Single’s Awareness Day, Honolulu has a variety of tasty options for celebrating Valentine’s Day in 2014.

Wine & Dine

Pig & The Lady – Chef Andrew Le and his family will be hosting a six course menu in their new Chinatown location that you can have with ($115 per person) or without ($75) specialty cocktails created by Bar Manager Kyle Reutner. The menu will be available from 2/13 – 2/15 from 5:30 to 10pm nightly, reservations recommended. Full menu and details here.

Miso & Ale + Cocina Pop-Up – Billed as an anti-valentine “One Night Stand”, the guys at Miso & Ale and Cocina will be teaming up for a pop up collaboration! A Loko Kine Valentine’s Brunch Pop-up – Three top female chefs (JJ Leng, Kelly Teramoto & Alison Yokouchi) team up for a special brunch menu at the UH Med School cafeteria in Kakaako on Sunday 2/16, along with artisan coffee from the Curb. Details here.

Chef Mavro’s Week of Love – Valentine’s day has already sold out, but Chef Mavro will have special menus starting at $85 (4 courses) available all week. Details here.

Alan Wong’s – Special menus are available on 2/14 & 2/15 for $95 per person including four courses, plus dessert. Reservations strongly recommended. Details here.

Shokudo Japanese – Nothing beats Shokudo’s signature honey toast dessert, except maybe enjoying it as fondue during their candlelight dinner special. For reservations call (808) 941-3701.

Kahala Hotel & Resort – Plumeria Beach House is offering a “Sweet & Spicy” Valentine’s Buffet for $75 per person on 2/14 & 2/15. Hoku’s has a special 5-course meal for $95 per person ($130 with wine pairing). Details here.

Papa John’s Heart Shaped Pizza – This one is a hit every year. Order a 1-topping heart shaped pizza + a mega cookie pizza with a long stemmed rose for $22.99 or with a dozen roses for $59.99. For details & giveaways, visit their Facebook page.

Concerts & Entertainment

Dinner + A Movie: Sabrina – The Honolulu Museum of Art will be showing the Audrey Hepburn 1954 classic film Sabrina at the Doris Duke Theater on Valentine’s evening 2/14, along with a Le Cordon Blue-inspired meal by Chef Sean Priester for only $45 ($40 for museum members). Valentine’s Day Soul Sessions – Toni Braxton and Jon B. will be performing R&B hits at the Neil Blaisdell Center Arena. Expect lots and lots of love songs. Doors open at 7pm, ticket prices $55 and up. Details here.

Anti-Valentine’s Day at Addiction – Singles will be out for the annual anti-Valentine’s party at Addiction Nightclub at the Modern Honolulu. Be sure you dress to impress. Details here.

The Lion King – The popular Broadway musical is touring in Honolulu from now through March 9th, and there are performances running on Valentine’s Day, as well as days before & after. Details here.
