Work with Me

Travel is one of my biggest passions and so far mine have taken me through 43 countries on six continents. I love to write about the people I meet, places I visit, and of course the delicious foods I find along the way. Learning about people through their recipes, ingredients and food culture is my favorite way to experience the world and its multi-layered history.

I was born and raised in Upcountry Maui and later moved to Honolulu, where I became enamored with the food scene there – writing restaurant reviews and even working as a food tour guide! These days I try to visit my family and friends often and to research new places to stay, things to do and of course to find the best new places to eat!

I love featuring small businesses to help locals staycation better and sharing kama’aina deals whenever I can find them. These days whenever I’m homesick or on deadline for a piece about Hawaii that makes me nostalgic, I turn to my collection of old spiral-bound Hawaii cookbooks (you know the type!) or my grandma’s handwritten recipe cards to cook up Hawaiian style comfort foods.
